Usage:
START BY:
a. install body support (FT1437) or body retaining pin
1. Turn the disconnect switch OFF.
2. Lift the rear hood, and hold it in position with the hood lock.
3. Identify all wire and cable connections at the starting motor for correct installation.
4. Disconnect cables (3) from the electric starting motor.
5. Disconnect two cables (1) from the solenoid switch.
6. Disconnect wire (2) from the magnetic switch.
7. Be sure all wires have been disconnected.
8. Fasten a nylon strap and hoist to the electric starting motor. The weight of the starting motor is 34 kg (75 lb.).
9. Remove the bolts that fasten the starting motor to the flywheel housing, and carefully lower it to the ground.
10. Install a new gasket on the starting motor pinion housing.
11. Install the starting motor in the reverse order of removal.
12. Connect the wires and cables according to previous identification. Tighten the terminal nuts to a torque of 25 to 35 N·m (20 to 25 lb.ft.).
13. Lower the rear hood.
14. Turn the disconnect switch ON.
