Usage:
1. Turn the disconnect switch OFF.
2. Identify the wire connections for correct installation, and disconnect three wires (2) from the alternator.
3. Loosen nut (1) on the belt tightener adjustment rod.
4. Remove bolt (3) that fastens the adjustment rod to the alternator support. Remove the alternator belt from the pulley.
5. Remove alternator mounting bolt (4), and remove the alternator.
6. Install the alternator on the engine, and connect the wires to the alternator. Tighten the output stud to a torque of 12 to 15 N·m (9 to 11 lb.ft.).
7. Install the alternator belt, and install the adjustment rod.
8. Use tool (A) to get the correct belt tension. Adjust the belt tension (new belt) to 534 ± 22 N (90 ± 10 lb.ft.).
For a used belt, the tension is 400 ± 44 N (90 ± 10 lb.).
NOTE: A used belt is one which has more than 30 minutes of operation at rated engine speed.
9. Tighten all bolts and nuts. Tighten the adjusting nuts to a torque of 150 ± 20 N·m (110 ± 15 lb.ft.).
10. Turn the disconnect switch ON.
