Brake Control Valve (Front)

Usage:

Remove And Install Brake Control Valve (Front)

Start By:

a. remove cab front cover

------ WARNING! ------

To prevent possible personal injury, make sure the pressure in the air system has been released before any air lines are disconnected.

--------WARNING!------

1. Release the air pressure from the system.

2. Remove two screws (2) that hold control valve (1) to the dash.

3. Mark the location of hoses (3) for installation purposes. Disconnect hoses (3), and remove control valve (1).

NOTE: The following steps are for installation of the brake control valve (front).

4. Connect hoses (3) to control valve (1).

5. Put control valve (1) in position on the dash, and install the two screws (2) to hold it.

End By:

Disassemble Brake Control Valve (Front)

Start By:

a. remove brake control valve (front)

1. Remove plug (1), spring (2) and valve (3) from body (4).

2. Remove rivet (8), lever (9), plunger (7), spring (6) and seat (5) from body (4).

Assemble Brake Control Valve (Front)

1. Make sure all parts are clean and free of foreign materials. Inspect the O-ring seals, and make replacements if needed.

2. Install seat (5) and spring (4). Install O-ring seal (3) on plunger (8), and install the plunger in the body.

3. Install lever (1) and rivet (2) that holds the lever in place.

4. Install valve (9) and spring (6) in the body.

5. Install O-ring seal (10) on plug (7), and install the plug.
