Fuel Shutoff Solenoid (Later)

Usage:

Remove And Install Fuel Shutoff Solenoid (Later)


NOTICE

Before any service work is done on the fuel system, the outer surface of the fuel system must be clean.


1. Remove the two bolts and shutoff solenoid (1) and gasket.

2. Put the gasket and the solenoid in position.

3. Make an alignment of shaft (2) and the lever in the housing.

NOTE: Shaft (2) must be in the groove (notch) in the lever, not under the lever.

4. Install the two bolts that hold the solenoid in position.

Disassemble And Assemble Fuel Shutoff Solenoid

start by:

a) remove fuel shutoff solenoid.

1. Remove plunger (2) and spring (1) from solenoid (6).

2. Remove shaft (4) and nut (3) from plunger (2).

3. Put identification on the wires for use at assembly and remove wires (5) from the solenoid.

4. Install the nut on shaft (4) and the shaft in plunger (2). Make an adjustment to the shaft until dimension (X) is .961 ± 0.20 in. (24.4 ± 5.1 mm). Dimension (X) is the distance between the face of plunger (2) and under the head of shaft (4).

5. Install wires (5) respective to their location on the solenoid.

6. Put spring (1) and plunger (2) in position in solenoid (6).
