Usage:
3192, 7251, 7261 Marine Transmissions
Description of Change: Self locking bolts or hardened washers are now used in place of the sheet metal locks in the above marine transmissions. Removal of the sheet metal locks prevents possible damage that can be caused if the ears break off the locks inside the transmission.
A special self locking bolt kit is released for conversion of earlier transmissions. The new kit has all the bolts and washers needed for conversion of any of the above models. The recommendation is to use the bolt kit for replacement of the locks during transmission reconditioning.
Adaptable As: Direct replacement when the necessary parts are used together. The 5N4179 Self Locking Bolt Kit can be used for replacement of the sheet metal locks in all earlier 3192, 7252 and 7261 Marine Transmissions.
