New Cable Tray Mounting Groups Are Used For Wiring{1408}

Usage:

3606 (8RB),
3608 (6MC),
3612 (9RC),
3616 (1PD) Engines

Description of Change: New cable tray mounting groups are used to support and route the wiring harness on the above engines.

Adaptable To: The chart identifies the new cable tray mounting group for each engine and its effectivity. Note that the cable tray mounting groups are not serviced at the group level. The individual components of each group must be ordered. Illustration 1 identifies the components of the 129-0840 Cable Tray Mounting Group for 3606 Engines. Illustrations 2 and 3 identify the components of the 129-0841 Cable Tray Mounting Group for 3608 Engines. Illustration 4 identifies the components of the 129-0842 Cable Tray Mounting Group for 3612 Engines. Illustration 5 identifies the components of the 129-0843 Cable Tray Mounting Group for 3616 Engines.

When installing the 128-8847 Cable Tray (Ref No 3 in Illustration 4) on the turbocharger mounting bracket on the rear of 3612 Engines, or the 128-8847 Cable Tray (Ref No 1 in Illustration 5) on the turbocharger mounting bracket on the rear of 3616 Engines only, two new holes must be drilled and tapped in the turbocharger mounting brackets. These two new holes are for the two 130-8342 Button Head Screws that fasten the new cable tray to the turbocharger mounting bracket. Use the following procedure to located, drill and tap the two new holes.

1. Put the new 128-8847 Cable Tray in position as shown in Illustration 4 or 5. Use the holes in the new cable tray as a guide to mark the locations of the holes to be drilled in the turbocharger mounting bracket.

2. Drill a 8.2 mm (.32 in) diameter hole, 25 mm (1 in) deep at the locations marked in Step 1.

3. Tap the two new holes with 3/8-16 thread, 17 mm (.7 in) deep.
