Caterpillar announces the following remanufactured cylinder heads for 3618 marine (fast ferry) engines:

Features and Benefits

? Upgrade to New groups include a new casting, valve guides, valve seats, exhaust valves and other critical wear components.

? Castings for Reman groups are 100% checked for cracks, erosion or other damage that may result in failure if left undetected. Castings, which cannot be remanufactured to Caterpillar® specifications, are replaced with new.

? Combustion decks are resurfaced to ensure a tight seal between the cylinder head and engine block to help prevent combustion gas and coolant leaks.

? All cylinder heads are pressure tested for leaks

? Warranty for Caterpillar remanufactured cylinder heads is the same as new parts warranty. Refer to the new parts warranty statement.

Core Acceptance

The following cylinder heads are acceptable core for 0R0958 and 0R0963:

- 138- 7907, 175-6338, 180-5344

- 0R9498, 0R0958, 0R0963

Core acceptance criteria for Caterpillar remanufactured cylinder heads is simple, visual and requires no special tools. See Core Acceptance Guidelines SELD0018-07 for complete details.

Also refer to other CMIS 2 inquiry applications such as Customer Profiles, Inspection Reason Codes, Inspection Line Inquiry, Add Charge Information, Entitlement Activity, Entitlement Inquiry, CCR Inquiry, CCR Entry, Shipment Processing; Process Packaging Grief; and Reporting to properly manage core returns and monitor inspection performance. This information will be available to all dealers worldwide after your CMIS 2 conversion date.
