Introduction

The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.

Problem

There have been some issues with the NRS valve not responding. Sometimes, the following event code becomes active:

Do not operate or work on this product unless you have read and understood the instruction and warnings in the relevant Operation and Maintenance Manuals and relevant service literature. Failure to follow the instructions or heed the warnings could result in injury or death. Proper care is your responsibility.

Before performing any troubleshooting or clearing any diagnostic codes, ensure that PDF and XML versions of the Product Status Report (PSR) are downloaded from the engine ECM. Select the histogram option in the download list.

Perform the correct troubleshooting procedure for any active diagnostic codes. Refer to Troubleshooting for the correct procedure.

If there are no active diagnostic or event codes, use the electronic service tool to perform the "Air Systems Motor Valve Verification Test". Diagnostic or event codes will become active as a result of the test if there is an issue with the NRS valve.

If the troubleshooting procedure recommends the replacement of the NRS valve, refer to Disassembly and Assembly for the correct procedure. If the NRS valve is removed, place the valve in a sealable airtight plastic bag.

Submit the following information using "CPI Feedback" within Service Information Management System (SIMSi):

• Detailed description of the operating conditions when the issue occurred (altitude of jobsite, ambient temperature)

• Details of any components replaced

• TIB media number M0105075

• CPI Number 426429

• PDF and XML versions of the PSR with histograms
