New monitor software version 1.6.1 for Cat® Grade system with improved functionality is now available for the machines that are listed above.
The new software part numbers are listed in Table 1.

Note: Once upgraded to a v1.6.1 release, the software cannot be downgraded to v1.4 or lower due to some licensing structure changes that were implemented in v1.4.
Note: The new software is available in the form of a flash file through the Caterpillar Service Information System (SIS). Search on SIS web to make sure that the new flash file part number is still the latest part number. A newer part number may be available. SIS web only displays the latest available flash file.
The new software v1.6.1 release has the improvements that are listed below:
- Improvement related to rendering of a design surface in the profile and cross section views, when the design surface is 1000 meters or greater in elevation. Cut/fill guidance and lightbar guidance functioned accurately to the correct elevation in previous versions but there was no design surface drawn on the screen.
The v1.6.1 3D Grade software may be used in place of the listed v1.6 part numbers or other generic v1.6 releases to have the above improvement.
Required Service Tool
The .FL2 extension can be flashed directly to the Grade ECM using Winflash over a direct Ethernet connection or the .SG6 extension file can be extracted from the .FL2 extension file using a traditional file compression tool. Extracting 5707053V00.FL2 will show 5707053V00.SG6 in the Data Images folder.
