Usage:
3208 (75V, 1Z) Marine Engines Equipped With Turbochargers And Used In Pleasure Craft Applications
Description of Change: New air cleaner elements can be used on the above engines. The new air cleaner elements are made from a foam type material. The new elements also create less air inlet restriction. The new element can be washed in mild detergent, dried and used again.
The former air cleaner elements were made from a paper material. The former elements, in some applications were easily plugged. This increased the inlet air restriction.
Adaptable As: The 7W5040 Element is a direct replacement for the former 8N5006 Element on turbocharged engines. The 8N5006 Element is still used in commercial applications.
The new 7W2180 Element and four 5B546 Spacers are a direct replacement for the former 2W6155 Element and four 2M849 Washers on turbocharged and aftercooled engines.
The new elements should be replaced every 500 SMU, two years, or as often as needed.
