FT1698 Driver Can Be Used For Reconditioning Of Governor Housing

Usage:

All 3208 Industrial, Marine And Generator Set Engines Equipped With Sleeve Metering Fuel Systems

With the use of the FT1698 Driver it is now possible to recondition the governor housings on the above 3208 Engines so an inner bearing can be used. Formerly, it was possible to only recondition the governor for the installation of an outer bearing. The FT1698 Driver is used with the existing FT1526 Fixture and FT1525 Alignment Pin for this operation. A new .719" diameter core drill and .7405 + .000 - .0002" diameter reamer will also be needed to install the inner bearing. The new core drill and reamer must have a minimum flute length of 142.88 mm (5.625") to correctly machine the governor housing. The core drill and reamer are available from:

Mohawk Tools

The core drill identification number is CT23/32".

The reamer identification number is RT 3/4 Alter to .7405 + .0000 - .0002"

NOTE: The core drill and reamer are made with tapered shanks. It may be necessary to machine the shanks if they are to be used in an electric drill.

The core drill, reamer, two bushings and fixture are all parts of FT1526.

Special Instruction, Form SMHS7760-01 has complete information on the use of FT1698 Driver, FT1526 Fixture and FT1525 Alignment Pin.
