Turbocharger - Remove and Install - High-Pressure

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove nuts (1). Remove bolts (2) and remove heat shield (3).

  4. Remove bolts (7) and bracket (8).

  5. Remove bolts (9). Remove heat shield (10).

  6. Remove bolts (11) and remove heat shield (12).

  7. Remove clamps (13) and (17). Remove pipe assembly (14). Remove heat shield (15) and heat shield (16).

  8. Remove gaskets (18) from both ends of pipe assembly (14).

  9. Remove bolts (19) and nuts (20). Remove heat shield (21).

  10. Remove bolt (22) and plate (23).

  11. Remove bolts (24) and remove heat shield (25).

  12. Remove bolts (27) and disconnect tube assembly (26). Remove tube assembly (28).

  13. Remove P-clip (29). Remove tube assembly (26).

  15. Remove clamps (31) and boot assembly (32). Remove clamp (33).

  16. Remove bolts (34) and disconnect tube assembly (35). Remove bolts (36) and remove turbocharger (37).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install turbocharger (38) in the reverse order of removal.

    1. Tighten nuts (37) to a torque of 71 ± 7 N·m (52 ± 5 lb ft).

    2. Tighten nuts (36) to a torque of 42 ± 4 N·m (30.97752 ± 2.95024 lb ft).

    3. Tighten bolts (34) to a torque of 23 ± 2 N·m (204 ± 18 lb in).

    4. Tighten clamp (33) to a torque of 6 ± 0.6 N·m (53 ± 5 lb in).

    5. Tighten clamps (31) to a torque of 11 ± 1 N·m (97 ± 9 lb in).

    6. Tighten tube assembly (30) to a torque of 30 ± 3 N·m (266 ± 27 lb in).

    7. Tighten P-clip (29) to a torque of 9 ± 1 N·m (80 ± 9 lb in)

    8. Tighten tube assembly (28) to a torque of 30 ± 3 N·m (266 ± 27 lb in).

    9. Tighten bolts (27) to a torque of 25 ± 2.5 N·m (221 ± 22 lb in).

    10. Tighten tube assembly (26) to a torque of 60 ± 6 N·m (44 ± 4 lb ft).

    11. Tighten clamp (17) to a torque of 20 ± 2 N·m (177 ± 18 lb in).

    12. Tighten clamp (13) to a torque of 20 ± 2 N·m (177 ± 18 lb in).
