Procedure For Replacing The Engine Interface Box Harness On Certain G3500B Engines{4460, 7426}

Installation Procedure

    (5) 6D-5801 Locknuts

    (6) 4B-4863 Washers

  1. Remove four locknuts (5) with four washers (6) from the inside of the engine interface box as shown in Illustration 1.

  1. Remove four screws (4) from the outside of the interface box.

  1. Remove four screws (3) from the bottom of the interface box.

  1. Remove ring nut (2) from the inside of the interface box.

  1. Remove box harness assembly (1) .

  1. Install box harness assembly (1) .

  1. Secure the bottom connector in the interface box using ring nut (2) with four screws (3) .

  1. Secure the side connector in the interface box using four screws (4) with eight washers (6) and four locknuts (5) .

  1. Remove four screws (1) from connector assembly (2) .

    (5) 233-9227 Sockets

  1. Remove ring nut (3) in order to remove connector assembly (2) with gasket (4) .

  1. Remove the wires one by one if possible to inspect for corrosion of the sockets.

  1. If corrosion is detected, cut the wire as close to the socket as possible. Install a new socket (5) onto the wire. Install the wire into the new connector assembly (2) .

  1. Install the connector assembly with a new gasket (4) back into the engine interface box.
