Housing (Front) - Remove and Install

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the vibration damper.
  2. Remove the crankshaft front seal.

  1. Remove bolts (1) that connect oil pan to front housing.

  1. Remove bolts (2) and front housing (3) .

    Note: Use caution when removing front housing (3) so oil pan gasket does not get damaged.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install front housing (3) in the reverse order of removal.

    Note: Install all bolts finger tight first prior to final tightening.

    1. Apply Tooling (A) in a bead with a width of 1.5 ± 0.3 mm (0.06 ± 0.01 inch)to the joint face. Front housing (3) must be installed within 5 minutes of applying the sealant.

    1. Tighten bolts (1) to a torque of 46 ± 5N·m (34 ± 3 lb ft)

    1. Tighten bolts (2) to a torque of 19 ± 3 N·m (168 ± 27 lb in)
