Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |
- Drain the engine oil and filter. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Oil and Filter - Change" for the proper draining and filling procedures.
- Drain the coolant. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change" for the correct draining and filling procedures.
- Use Tooling (A) to remove engine oil filter (1).

- Install engine oil filter base (14) in the reverse order of removal.
- Apply Tooling (B) to the top
20.00 ± 0.80 mm (0.787 ± 0.032 inch) of hollow stud (19). Tighten hollow stud (19) to a torque of68 ± 7 N·m (50 ± 52 lb ft) .Show/hide table

14 ± 3.5 N·m (124 ± 31 lb in) . Tighten studs (13) and bolts (12) to a final torque of28 ± 7 N·m (248 ± 62 lb in) . - Apply clean engine oil to the seal of engine oil filter (1).
- Apply Tooling (B) to the top
