"Three60 Hold" acknowledgment dialog |
The vessel is underway with propellers spinning and may move suddenly without warning. Being in the water near the vessel may result in personal injury. Read the Operation and Maintenance Manual for safe use of the system. Stay out of the water while the vessel is underway and hold on to prevent falling into the water. Always be aware of your surroundings. |
Read the caution shown above. After reading the caution message, use the following instructions to change to "Three60 Hold" mode.
- Tap the "ACCEPT" soft button, as shown in Illustration 6, to transition to "Three60 Hold".
- Tap the "CANCEL" soft button, shown in Illustration 6, to return to the previously displayed screen.
Note: If "ACCEPT" is tapped, the GPS position of the vessel is stored as the "Hold Position". The "Three60 Hold" home screen shown in Illustration 5 will appear.

Vessel drift present in "Three60 Hold" mode (2) Port side propeller shaft speed (3) Starboard side propeller shaft speed (4) Status of the bow thruster (5) Status of the stern thruster (6) Three60 Hold status |
Refer to Illustration 7. The port (2) and starboard (3) propeller shaft speeds are shown in the upper left and upper right of the screen. The status of the bow thruster (4) and the stern thruster (5) are shown in the lower right of the screen. The "Three60 Hold" status (6) is shown in the lower left.
In the center of the screen is a display of the location vessel with respect to the "Hold" position. Upon entering "Three60 Hold", the vessel icon is centered on the screen and is shown in green. If the vessel drifts off the Hold position, the vessel icon will move from the center, in the direction of the drift. The three circles indicate how much the vessel has drifted.

If the vessel drifts more than
A red triangle (7) is shown on the screen in Illustration 8. The red triangle (7) indicates the desired heading for the vessel. The desired heading is determined by the operator using the GPS. From the excessive vessel drift screen, swiping left displays the Three60 home screen. Swiping again to the left displays details for the starboard side engine and transmission. Swiping again to the left displays details for the port side engine and transmission.
Upon entering or leaving "Three60 Hold", a short audible alarm is sounded. While in "Three60 Hold", if necessary, notifications will be displayed in a pop-up window. Table 1 shows the available list of notifications. Table 1 also lists the reason for each notification and the action, if any, that is needed to resolve the issue by the operator. Some notifications are informational and require no action on the part of the operator.
Each notification appears for only a certain time duration. Each notification can be cleared by pressing the "Acknowledge" button. Whenever "Three60 Hold" is canceled, the "ACTIVATE" soft button is grayed out, and the operator cannot select the button and enter "Three60 Hold".
Notification | Information | Displayed Duration |
---|---|---|
Center Rudders Reminder | Displayed upon entry into "Three60 Hold". Reminder to make sure that the rudders are centered in case vessel moves. | 10 seconds |
Transmission Controllers Commanded Joystick Mode Exit | "Three60 Hold" canceled. Cancellation occurs when the control of the vessel is transferred to levers versus a joystick. | 10 seconds |
Joystick Mode not Active | "Three60 Hold" is canceled. Cancellation may be due to a transfer to a different joystick location on the vessel. | 10 seconds |
Active Joystick Not Centered | "Three60 Hold" canceled due to movement of the active joystick. The active joystick must remain centered to stay in "Three60 Hold".(1) | 10 seconds |
Vessel Speed Too High | "Three60 Hold" not activated. Vessel speed must remain under three knots to activate "Three60 Hold". | 5 seconds |
No GPS Position/Heading | "Three60 Hold" is not active due to one of the following:
1) Loss of valid GPS signal 2) Use of a non-approved GPS device 3) The GPS indicates a Dilution Of Precision value exceeding 4(2) |
5 seconds |
"Three60 Hold" Inhibiting Fault Active | A non-GPS fault was detected while entering the "Three60 Hold". Refer to pop-up screens for details about why the fault occurred. | 5 seconds |
Unable To Maintain Position | "Three60 Hold" is canceled for any of the following reasons:
1) The vessel drifts more than 2) The vessel slow down phase is active for more than 15 seconds. 3) The heading is greater than 90 degrees off the desired heading. |
Continuously while one or more of the three conditions in information column exist.(3) |
"Three60 Hold" Canceled Due to Fault | A fault that is not in the current list of notifications has occurred which resulted in cancellation of "Three60 Hold". Acknowledgment of the notification can be from any of the following:
1) The display 2) By moving the active joystick 3) Transferring stations to a different joystick 4) Activating a power train controller lever |
Until acknowledged |
Vessel Slow Down Phase Active | The vessel is slowing after requesting entry into "Three60 Hold". The vessel speed reported by the GPS exceeds approximately one knot. The vessel slow down phase is exited when vessel speed is less than 0.5 knots. | The message is displayed until the vessel slows to less than 0.5 knots and slow down phase is exited. |
"Three60 Hold" Active Reminder | "Three60 Hold" is active. Vessel may move unexpectedly. | 3 seconds for every 20 seconds |
Joystick Station Transfer | "Three60 Hold" is canceled due to transfer to a different joystick station. | |
"Three60 Hold" Request Cleared | "Three60 Hold" activate command was received when the "Three60 Hold" sub conditions were not met. | |
"Three60 Hold" Request from non-active Station | "Three60 Hold" function request from a display whose source address does not correspond to the active joystick station. |
(1) | The message may be commanded briefly while "Three60 Hold" is still active before the transition to joystick mode. |
(2) | A high "Dilution of Precision" value means that the GPS cannot accurately determine the position of the vessel due to satellite locations. |
(3) | Operator intervention is required to relocate the vessel to the desired hold position. |
