Description of Change: The new software has been improved to allow proper timing calibration for the engine.
The timing calibration requires engine speed to be 1100 ± 50 rpm. When a timing calibration procedure is performed within Cat ® Electronic Technician (Cat ET) on an engine operating with the old software, 1200 rpm is the commanded engine speed. The new software commands an engine speed of 1100 rpm when a timing calibration is performed with Cat ET.
Adaptable To: The new software is a direct replacement for the former software. Refer to Table 1 for a list of the new and former software part numbers. The new software is adaptable back to first production on the serial numbers listed above

New Recommendations Regarding the Operation of the Emergency Stop Switch on the Engine Mounted Control Panel
If the emergency stop switch is used to shut down the engine with the on engine control panel. Ensure that the keyswitch is cycled to the POWER OFF KEY OUT position prior to resetting the emergency stop switch to restart the engine. This will ensure that the power has been removed to the engine control module and that the engine is ready for starting. Do not start the engine until the problem that caused the emergency stop has been corrected.
