NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.


  1. Turn off the diesel exhaust fluid supply to the dosing cabinet.

  2. Turn off the power supply to the dosing cabinet.

  3. Wait 30 seconds, then turn off the air supply to the dosing cabinet.

  4. Disconnect the diesel exhaust fluid supply from the diesel exhaust fluid screen.

  5. Disconnect the diesel exhaust fluid injection line.

  6. Remove front panel (1) and panel (2).

  7. Disconnect harness assemblies (3) and (4).

  9. Disconnect tube assemblies (7) and (8).

  10. Remove bolts (9) and remove diesel exhaust fluid manifold (10).

  20. Remove sensor (28). Remove O-ring seal (29).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install diesel exhaust fluid manifold (10) in the reverse order of removal.

    1. Use Tooling (A) to lubricate the O-ring seals.

    2. Tighten sensor (28) to a torque of 48 ± 5 N·m (35 ± 4 lb ft).

    3. Tighten sensor (20) to a torque of 20 ± 3 N·m (177 ± 27 lb in).

    4. Tighten solenoid (18) to a torque of 60 ± 5 N·m (44 ± 4 lb ft).

    5. Tighten solenoid (12) to a torque of 60 ± 5 N·m (44 ± 4 lb ft).

    6. Apply Tooling (B) to the threads of diesel exhaust fluid screen (11) and install diesel exhaust fluid screen (11) with the arrow pointing towards the dosing cabinet.
