Note: M.C.S. regulated engines are equipped with thermowells which allow specific temperature sensors to be removed with the engine running. A heat conductive compound is used to ensure that an accurate temperature reading is achieved by the temperature sensor when installed in a thermowell.
- Disconnect harness assembly (1).
- Remove engine oil temperature sensor (2) from thermowell (3).
- Use a clean towel to remove heat transfer compound from engine oil temperature sensor (2) and thermowell (3).

- Install the temperature sensor (2) in the reverse order of removal.
- Apply
1.7 mL (0.06 oz) of heat transfer compound to the inside of thermowell (3).
- Apply
