Pressure Sensor (Engine Coolant) - Remove and Install - Engine Cooling System Pressure Sensor

Removal Procedure


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.


Note: M.C.S. regulated engines are equipped with check valves which allow specific pressure sensors to be removed while the engine remains in operation.

  1. Disconnect harness assembly (3).

  2. Remove coolant pressure sensor (2). Inspect check valve (1) for leaks. Replace as necessary. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Check Valve - Remove and Install" for the correct removal and installation procedure.

  3. Remove and discard O-ring seal (4) from coolant pressure sensor (2).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the coolant pressure sensor (2) in the reverse order of removal.

    1. Tighten coolant pressure sensor to a torque of 10 ± 2 N·m (89 ± 18 lb in).
