Description of Change: The following changes have been made to the electronic thermostats:

• The thermostat motor cavity has been redesigned to prevent moisture entry

• The thermostat motor wiring harness has been rotated 180 degrees in order to eliminate moisture entry through the wiring connector.

• A drain has been added to allow any potential moisture inside of the housing to drain. The drain also eliminates retention or collection of moisture caused by condensation.

• Heat shrink has been added to the wiring connections to minimize the possibility of moisture to enter the wiring connections.

• An O-ring has been added between the motor and the motor mount assembly

• The motor cover has been redesigned to use a gasket between the motor housing and motor cover.

• The wiring connection at the thermostat motor housing has been redesigned to prevent moisture entry to the thermostat motor.

• A label with additional work instructions on opening and closing the valve manually has been added.

Adaptable To: The new 387-8211 Thermostatic Valve Gp and 387-8214 Thermostatic Valve Gp are adaptable back to first production of the serial numbers listed above.

The 399-8134 Electric Motor Kit and 399-8135 Motor Kit are available to retrofit current engines using original electronic thermostat groups. Refer to Table 1 for the parts list.
