Valve Mechanism Cover Base - Remove and Install

Usage:

C18 DTP

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the valve mechanism covers.

  1. Disconnect harness assembly (2) (not shown).

  2. Remove cap assemblies (1).

  3. Remove bolts (4) and remove valve mechanism cover base (3).

  4. Discard seal (5). Use a new seal for installation.

  5. Remove bolts (9). Cut cable straps (8) and cable tie mountings (6).

  6. Remove harness assembly (7) and seal (10). Replace seal (10) if damaged.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install valve mechanism cover base (3) in the reverse order of removal.

    1. Install the flat part of seal (10) against the connector. The curved portion of the seal must be installed against valve mechanism cover base (3).

    2. Tighten cable straps (8) and cable tie mountings (6) to a torque of 120 to 140 N (27 to 31 lb).

    3. Use the tightening sequence in Illustration 3 to tighten bolts (4) to standard torque.

    4. Tighten the nuts on cap assemblies (1) to a torque of 2.5 ± 0.25 N·m (22 ± 2 lb in).
