Industrial Engine:

C18 (S/N: WJH1-UP)

Several changes have been made to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7899 for certain C18 Commercial Engines. These changes include information in the following areas:

• Separate service intervals have been defined for both deep sump and shallow sump oil pans

• Both the deep sump and shallow sump oil pans are shown as graphics in the manual for identification purposes

• Engine oil recommendations for both Caterpillar and Commercial oils are included in a chart for easy reference

• The Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Severe Service Application - Check" has been updated with information of causes for premature wear to the major engine components

• The diesel fuel specifications have been updated to reflect the recent update to Caterpillar Machine Fluids Recommendations, SEBU6250

• The engine rating application definitions and operating limits have been charted to help the customer ensure reliable and long engine life

• The engine storage procedures have been updated for engines that need to be stored for long periods
