Caterpillar Electronic Technician (Cat ET)

Caterpillar Electronic Technician (Cat ET) is a software program that is used to access data. The service technician can use the Cat ET in order to perform the maintenance. Some of the options that are available with the Cat ET are listed below:

  • Diagnosis of problems

  • Viewing diagnostic trouble codes

  • Viewing active event codes and logged event codes

  • View the status of parameters.

  • Clear active diagnostic trouble codes and clear logged diagnostic trouble codes

  • Perform calibration of machine systems.

  • Program the ECU (Flash). Use "WINflash" to program the ECU. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Electronic Control Module (Generator Set) - Flash Program".

  • Print reports.

Refer to Troubleshooting, "Diagnostic Trouble Code List". Diagnostic information is accessed with the following drop-down menus:

  • Active diagnostic trouble codes

  • Logged diagnostic trouble codes

Status Groups for Cat ET

Status groups are lists of machine parameters. The statuses of the parameters are shown in real time. To enable status groups, select the status tool icon. Select an existing group on the left, or create a temporary group. Add the desired parameters to view. Illustration 2 shows a temporary group.
