The new air compressor groups have a check valve that is installed in the inlet port of the air compressor. Refer to Illustration 1.
The procedures for the removal of the air compressor and the installation of the air compressor are retained from the former air compressor. Refer to the correct Disassembly and Assembly that is listed above for the correct procedures.
Refer to Table 1 for the part number of the air compressor that is used for your application.

Note: If the Special Instruction that is listed above has already been performed on the engine, the in-line check valve that was installed must be removed. Replace the air inlet hose in order to remove the check valve for the air compressor. Refer to Illustration 2 for the typical location of the installation of the in-line check valve.
