Engine News SEBD9596, 29 June 2009, "A Spring has been Added to the Ignition Transformer on G3400 and G3500 Engines". This article has been revised for additional effectivity.

Description of Change: A spring has been added in order to prevent oil from bypassing the seal on the ignition transformers. This change will increase the service life of the seals. Also, the engine will avoid possible misfiring from engine oil that is bypassing the seal.

Adaptable To: The 316-4262 Spring is adaptable back to first production on the serial numbers that are listed above. Refer to Illustration 1 for the location of the new spring.
