Description of Change: An improved alternator mounting group is used on the 3500 Family of Engines. The improved group has a new drive pulley that has a hardened wear surface (sleeve) and a new seal that is used with the pulley. These improvements will reduce wear and help prevent oil leakage.
Adaptable To: The new 9Y5286 Pulley Assembly and 6V7196 Seal, when used together, are direct replacements for the former 7N5626 Pulley and 6V8172 Seal in the improved 1W5048 Alternator Mounting Group. The 535065 Wear Sleeve in the new pulley assembly is also serviced.
