Oil Cooler Bypass Elbow Changed To Prevent Bypass Valve Seizure{1314,1318}

Usage:

3500 Family Of Engines

Description of Change: The oil cooler bypass valve for the 3500 Family of Engines is contained inside an oil cooler bypass elbow. The shape of the bypass port inside the elbow has been changed from rectangular to the shape shown in the illustration. The new shape allows more movement of the internal valve between full flow and shutoff. The shape of the new elbow also provides more support to the valve. These changes reduce the wear on the valve.

Location of the bypass valve port in the oil cooler bypass elbow.

Adaptable To: The new 7C9217 Bypass Elbow can be installed as a direct replacement for the former elbow. Part number did not change.
