The ignition coil for the Caterpillar Regeneration System (CRS) has been changed. This change assists in the troubleshooting of ignition problems with the CRS system.
A white indicator stripe was added to the ignition coil. When the spark plug wire is not engaged to the coil the stripe will be visible.

The white stripe (1) was added to the coil just below the electrode.

If the spark plug wire (2) is not fully engaged onto the coil a portion of the white stripe (1) will be visible. See Illustration 2.

A correctly connected spark plug wire (2) will completely cover the white stripe on the coil. See Illustration 3.
Failure to completely connect the spark plug wire to the ignition coil will cause the ignition coil electrode to erode. If the ignition coil electrode loses the connection, the CRS will fail.
