Removal Procedure

1. Turn battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.

2. Drain coolant to a level below the diesel exhaust fluid module. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change" for the correct draining and filling procedures.

3. Remove bolts (2) and guard assembly (1).

4. Remove bolt (3).

6. Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to fuel tank guard assembly (6). The weight of fuel tank guard assembly (6) is approximately 36 kg (80 lb).

7. Remove bolts (5). Use a suitable lifting device to remove fuel tank guard assembly (6).

8. Remove bolts (7) and bolt (9).

9. Remove battery box cover assembly (8).

10. Remove bolts (12) and bolts (11).

11. Remove guard assembly (10), and plate assembly (13).

12. Disconnect hose assembly (14) and hose assembly (15). Refer to Special Instruction, REHS8231, "Removal Procedures for Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) Connectors" for the correct removal procedures for hose assembly (14) and hose assembly (15).

13. Disconnect hose assemblies (16).

14. Loosen the hose clamp for hose (17) and disconnect hose (17).

15. Remove bolt (18) and the clip.

16. Position hose (14) out of the way.

17. Cut cable straps (20) and cable straps (22).

18. Disconnect harness assemblies (19) and harness assembly (21).

19. Remove bolts (23) and the clips.

20. Position hose assembly (15) out of the way.

21. Loosen hose clamp (24) and disconnect hose assembly (25).

22. Remove bolts (26) and plate (27).

24. Attach a suitable lifting device to diesel exhaust fluid module (29). The weight of diesel exhaust fluid module (29) is approximately 28 kg (60 lb).

25. Remove diesel exhaust fluid module (29).

Installation Procedure

1. Install diesel exhaust fluid module (29) in the reverse order of removal.

   1. Apply tooling (B) to the O-ring seal for hose assembly (15) and hose assembly (14).
