Pressure for Transmission Lubrication - Test

Introduction

The following test is used to test the oil pressure of the transmission lubrication.

(1) Lubrication pressure tap

The pressure for the transmission lubrication can be measured at pressure tap (1) on the front of the transmission.

  1. Install Tooling (A) on pressure tap (1).

  2. Start the engine.

  3. Increase the oil temperature to 47 °C (116 °F).

  4. Operate the engine at low idle. Observe the pressure gauge. The transmission lubrication pressure must be within the values that are shown in Specifications, Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, "Power Train Pressures".

  5. Operate the engine at high idle. Observe the pressure gauge. The torque converter outlet pressure must be within the values that are shown in Specifications, Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, "Power Train Pressures".

    Shut off the engine.
