Remote Control Transceiver - Test

Remote Control ECM

The following is a list of codes that are associated with the Remote Control Transceiver of the Command for Dozing Operator Console system.

Table 1
Remote Control ECM (MID 126)
DTC  Code Description  System Response
3264-03  Primary Remote Control Transceiver - Voltage Above Normal  When the condition to cause 3264-3 occurs, E1912 shall also be raised. Machine Shutdown.
3264-04  Primary Remote Control Transceiver - Voltage Below Normal  Machine Shutdown May occur. Machine stop and low idle will occur. RC Operation is not allowed.
3264-06  Primary Remote Control Transceiver - Current Above Normal  Machine Shutdown May occur. Machine stop and low idle will occur. RC Operation is not allowed.

The 3264 is the CID related to the Remote Control Operator Console Transceiver. When a diagnostic FMI, 3, 4 or 6 occurs a mismatch has occurred between the CAN message (on RC CAN) between the console transceiver and the diagnostic wire from Transceiver (Tx) to RCM (Rx). Proper Operation of the diagnostic wire will deliver 24V from the Transceiver (Tx) to RCM (Rx) when E-Stop is not pressed, and 0V when E-Stop is pressed.

Possible causes for an FMI 3 diagnostic code are:

  • The Diagnostic wire from Transceiver (Tx) to RCM (Rx) is sensed (at the RCM) as high or receiving 16V when the CAN message is reporting E-Stop (when the Circuit should be at 0V)

Possible causes for an FMI 4 diagnostic code are:

  • The Diagnostic wire from Transceiver (Tx) to RCM (Rx) is sensed (at the RCM) as low or receiving 0V when the CAN message is not reporting E-Stop (when the Circuit should be at 16V)

Possible causes for an FMI 6 diagnostic code are:

  • The Diagnostic wire from Transceiver (Tx) to RCM (Rx) is sensed (at the Transceiver) as Shorted at any time. This is sensed at the Transceiver then raised at the RCM via CAN message

Diagnostic Trouble Code Procedure

Note: Prior to beginning this procedure, inspect the harness connectors that are involved in this circuit. Poor connections can often be the cause of a problem in an electrical circuit. Verify that all connections in the circuit are clean, secure, and in good condition. If a problem with a connection is found, correct the problem and verify that the diagnostic code is active before performing a troubleshooting procedure.
