Improved Plates Are Now Used on the Rear Frame Boom Cylinder Mounting Lugs on Certain D-Series Wheel Skidders {7051} Caterpillar

Description Of Change: Improved plates are now used on the rear frame boom cylinder mounting lugs on the machines listed above. The new plates are thicker and are bevel welded to withstand heavier loads that are passed through the rear frame in the area of the boom cylinder lugs.

Adaptable To: The following changes are adaptable to the products within the listed serial numbers, and are effective with all products after the listed serial numbers.

Typical example Right side of the rear frame (1) 522-0838 Plate (4) 522-0841 Plate (W1) 8.0 mm (0.314 inch) bevel groove weld covered by 12.0 mm (0.47 inch) fillet weld.

Replace the 507-3253 Plate with the 522-0838 Plate (1) for 525D, 535D, and 545D.

Replace the 507-3255 Plate with the 522-0841 Plate (4) for 555D.

Weld the plate to 8.0 mm (0.31 inch) penetration bevel groove weld covered by 12.0 mm (0.47 inch) fillet weld as shown in Illustration 1.

Replace the 507-3252 Plate with the 522-0839 Plate (2) for 525D, 535D, and 545D.

Replace the 507-3254 Plate with the 522-0840 Plate (3) for 555D.

Weld the plate to 8.0 mm (0.31 inch) penetration bevel groove weld covered by 12.0 mm (0.47 inch) fillet weld as shown in Illustration 2.
