Installation Procedure For Updating Angle Cylinder Pins on Certain D6T Track-Type Tractors {6052, 6060, 6701}

  1. Remove the old angle cylinder pins, flags, and bolts from the back of the blade.

    Note: There is one set on each side of the blade.

    (AA) 3 mm (0.12 inch) Dimension may vary depending on the number of shims used.

    (AC) 25 mm (0.98 inch)
    (AD) 110 mm (4.33 inch)

    (AF) 6 mm (0.24 inch)
    (AG) 20 mm (0.79 inch)
    (AH) 197 mm (7.76 inch)

  2. Install the new parts as shown in Illustrations 1, and 2. Use as many of spacers (2) as required to get pin (5) and collar (1) to fit tight. Collar (1) has an offset in the position of the bolt hole. Install the collar in the position that requires the least number of spacers.

  3. Spacers (3) and pads (4) are same as current production, but are included in the rework in case original parts are damaged.

  4. Secure collar (1) using bolt (6), two washers (7), and locknut (8).

  1. Disassemble the right and left hand 245-1168 Pin or 473-4512 Pin on the angle cylinder rod eyes. Discard the pins. Bolts (A), washers (B), and retainers (C) will not be reused. See Illustration .

  2. Place pin (4) in the left-hand blade bore with the head facing up. Place retainer tube (2) on top of boss and center retainer tube about the center of the pin.

    (K) 45 degrees
    (W2) 8 mm (0.31 inch) fillet weld, 130–180 degrees

    Note: Angular dimension (K) for the orientation of the bolt hole centerline in the retainer relative to the blade.

  3. Attach retainer tube (2) to boss (C) using weld (W2) as shown in Illustration 6.

  4. Reassemble the angle cylinder rod eye to the blade and secure the pin using bolt (6) and locknut (5).

  5. Repeat the process for the right-hand side.

  6. Grease both rod eye bearings. Verify that grease is getting through the bearing passages to the bearing and pin interface.

Group 3

Tighten 8T-7338 Bolt (A) to a torque of 270 ± 40 N·m (200 ± 30 lb ft).
