Engine News SEBD9507, 20 August 2007, "The Edge Filter Is Now Removed from Fuel Nozzles ". Disregard this article. Refer to the article that follows.

Fuel nozzles without edge filters are now available for the engines that are listed above. The edge filters have been removed from the 3300 and 3400 Direct Injection Fuel Nozzles (DIFN) in order to improve reliability.

Refer to Information Release Memo, PELJ0782, "Appearance Change To Cat Reman DIFN Nozzles" that follows.

Change in Appearance to Cat Reman (DIFN) Nozzles

Announcement

The Caterpillar Remanufactured Products Group announces a change on selected Cat Reman DIFN nozzles. Currently, the nozzles include an edge filter that is located in the adapter. Effective on the 2nd of July, 2007 Reman will not include edge filters in DIFN nozzles. The edge filter created debris downstream as a result of edge filter movement. The edge filter also created debris downstream when the filter was improperly pressed inside the adapter. This change will not alter the fit or the performance in any way.
