Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |
Reference: See Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Capacities (Refill)" for the capacity of the diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) tank for your machine.
- Open the compartment below the cab door on the right side of the machine.

- Remove the blue DEF tank filler cap.
- Fill the tank with diesel exhaust fluid (DEF).
Note: Do not fill the DEF tank from a contaminated container or funnel.
Note: Do not over fill the tank. DEF can freeze and needs room for expansion.
Note: When filling the diesel exhaust fluid tank with the engine start switch in the ON position, the machine backup alarm will briefly sound when the diesel exhaust fluid tank is 3/4 full.
- Install the blue DEF tank filler cap.
- Close the compartment door on the right side of the machine.
