Improved Placement of the Radio Antenna for Better FM Reception On 963K Track-Type Loader {7301, 7338, 733B} Caterpillar

Track-Type Loader

963K (S/N: LBL1-457)

For better FM reception on the 452-6580 Radio Gp installed on the 963K Track-Type Loader the antenna should be moved. The current 450-4792 Antenna As is replaced with a new 8E-1118 Antenna As and 8R-6111 Coaxial Cable As using the following instructions.

Antenna Replacement

1. Remove current antenna and the coaxle cable.

   (A) 88 mm (3.465 inch) (B) 149.5 mm (5.886 inch)

2. Drill a 25.4 mm (1 inch) hole in the HVAC cover. Refer to Illustration 2.

3. Install the new 8E-1118 Antenna As with the new 8R-6111 Coaxial Cable As.

Programming Regional Settings

1. Turn the radio to the OFF position and the ignition to the ON position.

   (A) Preset button (B) Volume knob

2. Press preset button 5 (A) and volume knob (B) for 6 seconds.

3. Turn volume knob (B) clockwise, the display will show the following frequency:

   • USA # (1/6)

   • EUROPE (2/6)

   • JAPAN (3/6)

   • LAT AM (4/6) (Latin America)

   • CHINA (5/6)

   • SAUDI (6/6)

4. Push volume knob (B) to select the zone.

5. Turn on the radio to verify the frequency.
