Procedure to Improve Door Window Striker and Latch Alignment on Certain Telehandlers {7308, 7310} Caterpillar

A procedure to align the door window striker and latch is available to prevent the door window from breaking after installing replacement glass.

The window will become stressed and break if the 473-8731 Striker (1) and 473-8933 Striker latch (2) are not aligned when engaged.

Perform the following steps to improve the alignment of the window strikers.

1. Loosen the 3 screws shown above.

2. Latch the 473-8731 Striker (1) to the 473-8933 Striker latch (2).

3. Tighten the 3 screws on the 473-8731 Striker (1).

If the window still does not latch properly, perform the following steps.

1. Loosen the 3 screws on the 473-8933 Striker latch (2) shown above.

2. Latch the adjusted 473-8731 Striker (1) to the 473-8933 Striker latch (2).

3. Disengage the window from the cab and tighten the 3 screws on the 473-8933 Striker latch (2).
