Usage:
785 Trucks, 3512 Vehicular Engines
Description of Change: New pipes and retainers are used in the air lines groups on 785 Trucks and 3512 Vehicular Engines. The new parts will improve the connection between the turbocharger and the aftercooler. The new retainers are in the shape of a "C" to provide more contact area.
Also, an improved turbocharger compressor housing is used in the turbocharger group. The improved housing now has two threaded holes for retaining the pipe and a longer bore for the pipe. Formerly, one bolt and washer were used to hold the pipe in the bore of the compressor housing.
Adaptable To: The new and former parts are shown in the chart. The new retainer is a direct replacement for the former washer. The improved housing and new pipe must be used together. The part number of the housing did not change, but the improved 7W2299 Housing can be identified by two threaded holes on the outlet of the compressor housing. The changes to the air lines and turbocharger groups are in effect with 8GB231 on 785 Trucks and 51Y522 on 3512 Vehicular Engines.
