New software is available for the ECM. The following information lists the updates for the new software:

  • A new feature was added. A "Programmable Operator Switch" will provide the customer to utilize same ECM input for "Overspeed Verify feature" or for "Programmable Torque Limit feature" depending on the Caterpillar Electronic Technician (Cat ET) configuration.

  • A new feature was added. A "J1939 Throttle" will provide the customer to have an option to use the J1939 throttle from an external source to control desired speed instead of a hard wired PWM throttle.

  • The diagnostic strategy for the starting motor solenoid was modified. The new software will not generate a diagnostic that is 444-05 Starter Motor Relay Current Below Normal while cranking or if the starting motor solenoid is not Installed.

  • A status flag for an emergency stop was added for Cat ET.

  • A general alarm initial lamp test was added. New software will activate the lamp for 15 seconds during the initial powerup of the ECM.

The new software is listed in Table 1.
