Improved Options For Configuring The Engine Cooling Fan Are Now Used For Certain D11T Track-Type Tractors {1386, 1901}

Usage:

D11T JEL
Track-Type Tractor:
D11T (S/N: JEL1-UP; JNS1-UP)

Improved engine cooling fan configurations are now used for certain D11T Track-Type Tractors. The improved configurations will appear in Caterpillar Electronic Technician (Cat ET) version 2014C or later. These improved configurations can be used to set the cooling fan configuration for proper cooling of the engine.

Note: Using earlier versions of Cat ET to configure the D11T Engine cooling fan may result in configuration settings that do not provide optimal engine cooling system performance and can result in engine overheating.

  • Use Cat ET to verify that the Engine Cooling Fan Map configuration is set to the "Standard" setting to ensure proper fan operation and proper engine cooling. Refer to Illustration 1.

Illustration 2g03831276

  • If the Engine Cooling Fan Map configuration is set to a "Low Noise" setting, use Cat ET to set the Fan Map configuration to the "Standard" setting. Refer to Illustration 2.

Note: Changing the Fan Map configuration will require a factory password.

  • If the engine cooling fan map configuration is changed, engine cooling fan calibrations may be required.

  • Verify proper operation of the engine cooling fan before returning the tractor to service.
