New Piston Oil Ring Gives Better Oil Control{1215}
Usage:
3304, 3306 Spark Ignited Engines
Description of Change: Pistons in 3304 and 3306 Spark Ignited Engines now use a new oil control ring that has a unit load pressure of 1725 kPa (250 psi). The former ring had a rating of only 920 kPa (135 psi). The higher load pressure gives reduced oil consumption. This is the same oil ring as used in 3304 and 3306 Diesel Engines.
Adaptable To: The new 9L6934 Oil Ring became effective with 3304 Engine 37Y1179, and with 3306 Engine 7Y2369. It can be used as a direct replacement for the former 9S2412 Oil Ring which is canceled.
