Fuel Injection Control Linkage - Install

Usage:

Installation Procedure


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.


    Note: Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "General Information (Reference Material)" for more information.

  1. Install shaft assembly (13) through the opening in the rear of the engine.

  1. Install bracket (10) with the bolts.

  1. Install shaft assembly (12) through the opening in the rear of the engine.

  1. Install the nut, the washers, and bolts (11) that connect shaft assemblies (12) and (13) together.

  1. Install flange (14) onto the rear of the cylinder block.

  1. Install rod assembly (9) onto the fuel control shaft.

  1. Install lever (8) onto plate assembly (7) .

  1. Place plate assembly (7) into position in rocker arm support (6). Install the bolts for plate assembly (7) .

  1. Install lever (3) into rod assembly (5) .

  1. Install rod assembly (5) and lever (3) as a unit.

  1. Install bolt (4) .

  1. Place lever (3) into position on the control shaft. Install cap (2) and bolt (1) .

  1. Install the camshaft inspection covers for each side of the engine.

  1. Adjust the fuel injection control linkage. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Fuel Setting".

End By:

  1. Install the camshaft drive gears. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Camshaft Drive Gear - Install".
  2. Install the rocker shaft and the pushrods. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Rocker Shaft and Pushrod - Install".
