Mounting

Usage:

G3516 4EK
For G3500 engines, the exhaust temperature module is mounted with the 251-9427 Instrument Panel Gp at the factory. Refer to Illustration 1. However, some installations are retrofitted.

For G3500 engines, the exhaust temperature module is mounted on top of the bracket for the engine interface box. This bracket is mounted on the left side of the engine at the rear cylinder.

To gain access to the wiring harness connector at the rear of the ETM, use the following procedure.

Front view

  1. The unit is mounted with three bolts. Remove two bolts (6) and two washers (7) from the front right and from the rear center of the mounting bracket.

  1. Loosen bolt (6) on the front left.

  1. Swivel the exhaust temperature module clockwise in order to access the wiring harness connector.

For 3500 diesel engines, the exhaust temperature module is mounted with the 292-8600 Instrument Panel Gp at the factory. Refer to Illustration 3. However, some installations are retrofitted.

The mounting location for the exhaust temperature module on 3500 diesel engines is on the left side of the engine. The mounting bracket is located at the number two engine cylinder.
