Service Magazine SEPD 1289, JUNE 2011, "Procedure for Releasing Stuck Buttons Due to Rapid Altitude Changes for Advisor Display". Disregard the "SMAG" information. Updated model information follows:

The information pertains to the following Advisor displays:

284-8905 Electronic Control Module (Advisor)

Rapid changes in altitude will cause changes in internal pressure within the Advisor display. An increase of internal pressure may cause the buttons to be hard to press or not function. A decrease in internal pressure may cause the buttons to be pulled in causing possible "Stuck Button"events.

If the buttons remain stuck, then perform the following procedure:

  1. Wait for a period up to 24 hours for the pressure to equalize.

    Illustration 2g02607342

  1. If the buttons remain stuck, then loosen the screw (1) on back of the display.

Note: Do not remove the screw.

  1. Securely tighten the screw to maintain an environmental seal within the display.

NOTICE

The screw must be reinstalled securely or internal corrosion of the display will occur.
