Removal Procedure

1. Place suitable blocking under track assembly (3).

2. Use two people to remove track roller guard (1). The weight of track roller guard (1) is approximately 27 kg (60 lb).

3. Use two people to remove track guide guard (2). The weight of track guide guard (2) is approximately 23 kg (50 lb).

4. Separate track assembly (1). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Track - Separate".

5. Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable strap to track assembly (3). Attach Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device to track assembly (3). Use Tooling (A) and Tooling (B) in order to position track assembly (3) away from the sprocket assembly.

   Note: The track must be repositioned in order to provide access to the sprocket. For machines with the SALT track system, use Tooling (A), Tooling (B), and a suitable lifting device in order to position the track out of the way.

6. Remove guards (4).

7. Remove nuts (5) and bolts (6). Remove sprocket (7). Use two people to remove sprocket (7). The weight of sprocket (7) is approximately 41 kg (90 lb).

Installation Procedure

1. Use two people to install sprocket (7). The weight of sprocket (7) is approximately 41 kg (90 lb).

2. Apply Tooling (C) to new bolts (6). Install new bolts (6), the washers, and nuts (5). Tighten nuts (5) according to the machine:

   1. For the D5K, tighten nuts (5) to a torque of 175 ± 40 N·m (129 ± 30 lb ft) plus an additional 120°.

   2. For the D3K and D4K, tighten nuts (5) to a torque of 70 ± 10 N·m (52 ± 7 lb ft) plus an additional 120°.

3. Install guards (4).

4. Attach Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device to track assembly (3). Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable strap to track assembly (3). Use Tooling (A) and (B) in order to position track assembly (3) onto the sprocket assembly.

5. Connect track assembly (1). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Track - Connect".

6. Use two people to install track guide guard (2). The weight of track guide guard (2) is approximately 23 kg (50 lb).

7. Use two people to install track roller guard (1). The weight of track roller guard (1) is approximately 27 kg (60 lb).

8. Remove suitable blocking.
