ReferenceRefer to Special Instruction, REHS5541, "Procedure for the Removal of the Transmission Lube Oil Temperature Sensor on D6R Series III and D6T Track-Type Tractors".

ReferenceRefer to Special Instruction, REHS5524, "Procedure For Blade Solenoid Calibrations on Certain Track-Type Tractors".

ReferenceRefer to Special Instruction, REHS3096, "Procedures For Installing Multi-Velocity Program (MVP) in the D6R Series III".

New 367-6879 Power Train Software Gp is now available for certain Track-Type Tractors that do not utilize the transmission lube oil temperature sensor and eliminates the diagnostics associated with this component.

The new power train software group calculates the transmission lubrication oil temperature using the torque converter outlet temperature, engine coolant temperature, and transmission oil temperature.

Note: For only the D6R Series III, refer to Special Instruction, REHS3096, "Procedures For Installing Multi-Velocity Program (MVP) in the D6R Series III".

The new 367-6879 Power Train Software Gp is adaptable to the following D6R Series III machines that were not built with MVP support:

  • GJB1-371

  • WCB1-132

  • HDC1-169

  • RFC1-140

  • TBC1-151

  • HCD1-144

  • HKE1-170

  • WRG1-307

  • MTJ1-151

  • DMK1-162

  • JDL1-126

  • DLM1-160

  • LFM1-138

  • LGP1-390

  • DPS1-123

  • GMT1-117

  • MRT1-239

  • EXW1-140

  • JEK1-194

  • EXL1-202

Note: The software files that do not support MVP cannot be mixed with the files that do support MVP. When any software is updated, it is important to flash the software in the following order:

  • Engine software

  • Monitor

  • Power train software

Refer to above reference Special Instruction, REHS5541, "Procedure for the Removal of the Transmission Lube Oil Temperature Sensor on D6R Series III and D6T Track-Type Tractors" to update the 367-6879 Power Train Software Gp for the machines D6R Series III and D6T.

New procedure for calibration of hydraulic valve solenoids that are required for certain Track-Type Tractors that use electronic control. This procedure will improve the accuracy of the solenoid calibration and ensure smooth operation of the machine.

Refer to above reference Special Instruction, REHS5524, "Procedure For Blade Solenoid Calibrations on Certain Track-Type Tractors" to calibrate the hydraulic valve solenoids for the machines D7R Series II.

The Special Instructions are available through the normal literature distribution system. The publication can also be found on the Caterpillar Service Information System (SIS).

Note: Go to SIS Web to make sure that the new flash file part number is still the latest flash file part number. A newer flash file part number may be available.
