Start By:

  1. Remove the engine enclosure group. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Enclosure Group - Remove and Install".

Note: Put identification marks on all hoses, on all hose assemblies, on all wires, and on all tube assemblies for installation purposes. Plug all hose assemblies and all tube assemblies. This helps to prevent fluid loss, and this helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.

------ WARNING! ------

When servicing or repairing electric power generation equipment:

  • Make sure the unit is either locked out or tagged DO NOT OPERATE.

  • Remove all fuses.

  • Make sure the generator engine is stopped.

  • Make sure all batteries are disconnected.

  • Make sure all capacitors are discharged.

  • Make sure residual voltage in the rotor, stator and the generator is discharged.

Failure to do so could result in personal injury or death.

  1. Remove bolts (1) and panel (2).

  2. Remove harness assemblies (3) and cable assemblies (4) from the generator.

  3. Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to generator (5). The weight of generator (5) is approximately 170 kg (375 lb).

  4. Attach Tooling (B) to engine (6) in order to support engine (6).

  5. Remove bolts (7) and screen (8).

  6. Release locks (9). Remove bolts (10).

  7. Remove bolts (11).

  8. Disconnect cable assembly (12).

  9. Remove bolts (13). Use the suitable lifting device in order to remove generator (5).
