Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |
Park the machine on level ground. Lower all implements to the ground. Apply slight downward pressure.
Engage the parking brake switch. Stop the engine.
- Open the rear enclosure on the right side of the machine. Open the front enclosure on the right side of the machine.
- Tilt the cab to the intermediate position or the full tilted position. See "Cab-Tilt" in this manual for the proper procedure.
Note: Perform the safe shutdown procedure of the machine.
- Remove inlet screens (1) from power train oil pump (2) .

- Clean the screens in clean, nonflammable solvent.
- Install the inlet screens. Replace seals, as needed.
- Lower the cab. See "Cab-Tilt" in this manual for the proper procedure.
- Close both of the enclosures on the right side of the machine.
