Sudden movement or accidental starting of the machine can cause personal injury or death to persons on or near the machine. To prevent personal injury or death, perform the following: Park the machine on a smooth, level surface. Lower the work tool to the ground and engage the parking brake. Stop the engine and remove the key. Block the wheels and install the steering frame lock. |

The pilot oil system supplies oil to the pilot control valves on the main implement control valve. The pilot control valves allow pilot oil to shift the main control valve spools. Pilot oil is also used in order to open the makeup valves. The opening of the makeup valves will allow the bucket to float. The optional ride control system uses pilot oil to shift the diverter valve. Pilot oil also flows to the control valves for the implement pumps.
The pilot oil pump is mounted on the right rear side of the pump drive. The pilot pressure reducing valve controls the pressure of the pilot oil system. The pilot pressure reducing valve is located in the pump compartment on the inside of the right frame.
- Connect the steering frame lock link.

Location of pressure tap for pilot supply oil - Attach a 8T-0850 Gauge (
4000 kPa (580 psi) ) to the pressure tap for pilot supply oil. The pressure tap is located on the right side of the loader frame near the articulation joint. - Engage the parking brake.
- Shift the transmission to neutral.
- Start the engine. Warm the hydraulic oil to a normal operating temperature of approximately
49 to 65°C (120 to 150°F) . - With the engine at low idle, record the gauge reading.
- The pilot oil pressure should be
3450 ± 200 kPa (500 ± 30 psi) . - If the pilot pressure is not correct, the setting of the pilot pressure reducing valve must be adjusted.

- Turn adjustment screw (2) clockwise in order to increase the pilot pressure. Turn adjustment screw (2) counterclockwise in order to decrease the pilot pressure.
- Tighten the locknut.
Perform Testing And Adjusting, "Pressure Reducing Valve (Implement Pilot Oil) - Test and Adjust" again in order to verify the new pressure setting.
